The Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (TTPI) was a United Nations trust territory administered by the United States from 18 July 1947 - 25 May 1994. The islands were originally controlled by Germany, ceded to Japan following WWI, and after WWII were placed under U.N. control. The TTPI consisted of Micronesia ( Chuuk, Kosrae, Pohnpei, Yap), Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands, and Palau.
