| A Grand Union flag with Red/Green stripes is described in reports for the port of Philadelphia during the winter of 1776-1777. Apparently the different ships in Commodore Esek Hopkins' tiny Delaware Bay fleet were identified by using stripes other that red and white. It has been noted that
red/white,
red/green, and
red/white/blue stripes were used. |
