The Flag

The flag of Chiquintad is horizontally divided blue-white green (seemingly in proportions 2:1:1). Blue represents the sky, always limpid and a sign of clarity and good omen, as well as water, profuse in the area and source of fresh life. White represents the human and Christian virtues, especially faith, solidarity, and welcome, expressed with much zeal by the yesterday and today's inhabitants of Chiquintad. Green represents the evergreen landscape, as well as aspiration to a better future for the families and the country. The white stripe is charged with a women's sombrero hat, radiating like a sun, which represents feminine beauty and handcraft.
