    Schkölen Banner

    It is a white-blue horizontal bicolour. The city seal is slightly shifted towards the top. Under the seal is a white inscription "STADT SCHKÖLEN".

    Schkölen Coat of Arms

    Shield Azure an impending castle Argent masoned Sable with three towers topped by cone roofs Gules, in the open gate a ball Or and four other balls Or ordered per fess in base. The seal displays the arms surrounded by a disc Argent with golden circumscription "SIGILLUM CIVITATIS SCHKOLONIS" (= city seal of Schkölen) and a bordure of four embowed wreaths of laurel Or.
    Meaning:
    The city was first mentioned in 1158. The arms are based on a city seal as displayed on the banner. It is assumed that the balls originally had been heraldic mounts and the castle had been a moated castle.

    The arms are in use since the 16th century. Banner and arms were confirmed by §§2(2) and (1) of the local Hauptsatzung, version 22 May 2015. §2(2) doesn´t say clearly, whether the banner is plain or contains the seal.
