The Band

Bilijk First Nation (formerly Kingsclear)

c.1650 Maliseet (Malecite [Wolastoqey]) in alliance with the French.
1725 Ally (later, subject) of the British.
1775 - 1777 Maliseet are briefly allied with the United States.
1779 Aukpaque reserve set aside (lost in 1794).
1814 Kingsclear reserve set aside (gave name to band).
1872 - 1971 Kingsclear (to 1949, Southwestern; from 1958, St. John River) Indian Agency established.
2022 Renamed Bilijk.

The Flag

Flag is a tri-color, a color that looks like aquamarine, with white with new Bilijk logo and another aquamarine section.

1. b) from the old seal on this page I am guessing the most recent prior flag was the same, but with "Kingsclear" on the top of the seal with slightly less stylized fish and First Nation below (see attached Kingsclear logo below, but I don't have a photo to prove it yet.
