Description of the flag

The flag is a vertical tribar of red-white-red. In the center of the flag is the borough seal in blue. Above and below the seal is the borough and state names inscribed across the bars in blue.

The seal shows a coat of arms like device in the center. The shield is divided horizontally showing a crossed pick and shovel, and two full minecarts with coal. The crest shows a arm wielding a hammer. The supporters of the shield is that of two coal miners with a shovel and a pick in their hands. The motto written says "By Industry, We Thrive".
