Description of the Flag

Kent Island is the largest island in the Chesapeake Bay, and is a part of Queen Anne's County.

The flag is a blue field with an image of a Maryland Blue Crab in the center. overlaying the crab is the island's name and the year the first person settled on the island in 1631, which was Kent Fort. it was adopted as part of a flag contest, possibly by the Kent Island Heritage Society.

"Julia Glenn, 16, of Stevensville, unfurled the recently designed, official flag of Kent Island, as she rode on the back of the Kent Island Heritage Society float during the KI Days parade, Saturday, May 16. Julia's entry in the flag design contest, held in 2008, won out in over 30 different entries submitted."
