The Somerset Police Department debuted its honor guard in June 2009, according to a news article found online at www.southcoasttoday.com. The article also includes a photograph of the honor guard marching in a parade carrying the American flag and a white flag with a device in the center. While the article does not specify the identity of the white
flag, some research and comparison of the device at the center with known Somerset-associated insignia points to this flag being the flag of the Somerset Police Department. A second photograph, found on the Somerset Police Department website confirms this suspicion.
The flag of the Somerset Police Department features the department's shoulder patch displayed on a white field.
