Heraldry:
"The gonfalon is a square canvas divided horizontal on three
equal parts - green, red with a white cross in the middle, and
black. The green colour symbolizes a young city, red with a white
cross symbolizes a location of town on Volyn, black symbolizes a
coal mining industry. The author is A.Grechylo."

The City council adopted a flag (with the cross) on August 12,
1997. It was my design and I have a copy of council's decision.
Unfortunately there are many errors in some web-sites.

Heraldry:
"The modern coat of arms forms a half of azure cross in a
gules field, above which there is a pyramid consisting of ten
sable pyramids. In a base there is a inflorescence of a chestnut.
Gules and azure colours are the symbols of Volyn, sable is the
symbol of coal mining industry. The author is L.Luniuk."
