"The flag of the village of Simeiz was developed on the basis of the
coat of arms of the village and approved by the decision of the Simeiz Village
Council dated July 7, 2006 No. 4 "On the flag of the village of Simeiz". The
authors of the flag are О.И.Маскевич (English: O. I. Maskevich), В.И.Коновалов
(English: V.I. Konovalov), and В.Н.Дорошко (English: V.N. Doroshko)". (The)
description of the flag is as follows:
"A rectangular panel with a ratio
of 2: 3 with a red and blue stripes, with a ratio of their widths: 1: 3. In the
blue field, at a distance of 1/5 from the bottom edge of the flag, two white
wavy stripes with a width of 1/40 of the flag's width (and) a white silhouette
of a mountain is seen (featuring the) горы Кошка (English: Cat Mountains) and
the скалы Дива (English: Diva Cliffs), 1/3 and 1/5 of the width of the flag
respectively.
Symbolism
"In the upper part of the canvas is
represented the Coat of Arms of the Мальцовых (English: Maltsovs) (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/43/Simeiz_coa.svg),
whose efforts (in) Simeiz became one of the best resorts of the Southern Coast
of Crimea. In the lower blue field the most recognizable symbols of the village
are Mount Cat and the Rock Diva. The star above them recalls the observatory
based on the Cat Mountain by Nikolai Sergeyevich Maltsov in 1900. Many
outstanding discoveries were made here, and the image of the reverse side of the
moon was adopted in 1959. The red color symbolizes courage, courage,
life-affirming power, blue-the beauty and majesty of the surrounding
nature,
blue sea and the blue sky of one of the best resorts of Crimea."
