SEKA (Selüloz ve Kağıt Fabrikaları, Cellulose and Paper Factories Agency) was widely seen as a symbol of the industrialisation of Turkey under Kemal Atatürk. The SEKA Paper Mill was established in Izmit in 1934. The company was privatised in 1997 and production ceased in 2005.
SEKA established SEKA Mediterranean in Silifke for producing kraft pulp, sack kraft paper and manufacturing lumber and wood products.
Factory was started to build on 28 July 1975 and production
started on 18 October 1984.
