The flag of TBPF (photo) is white with the federation's emblem.
This is the old emblem, adopted in 2006. The federation adopted a new emblem on 15 June 2017 (presnetation), which was selected in a public contest organized by the federation. Ten proposals were short-listed and shown on social networks, from which the winning design was eventually selected.

The new emblem stirred some negative reactions, especially because the Turkish crescent and star had been made white instead of red.

The oldest document mountain climb in Turkey is credited to the German naturalist Friedrich Parrot (1792-1841), who climbed on Mt. Ararat (5,137 m) on 27 September 1829. National mountaineering was initiated in 1924, when an expedition of eight members led by Colonel Cemil Cahit Todemyr (1883-1956) reached the top of Mt. Erciyes (3,917 m), Kayseri emblematic mountain.
The Turkish Mountaineering Society was established in 1928, succeeded in 1933 by the Turkish Hiking, Mountaineering and Winter Sports Club, to be subsequently renamed the Tennis, Fencing and Mountaineering Club.
The first Mountaineering and Equestrian Federation was established in 1936, to be renamed to Turkish Moutaineering Federation in 1939. The federation was incorporated in 1939 to the nely formed Mountaineering and Winter Sports Federation, from which its separated again in 1966.
On 17 May 1995, federation's member Nasuh Maruki was the first Turk to climb on the top of Mt. Everest (8,848 m).

The flag of TDF (photo, photo) is white with the federation's emblem. The former flag of TDF (photo, photo) was white with the federation's former emblem.
The emblem of TDF, in the national colors, features Mt. Ararat.
Designed by Pr. Birsen Çeken (Head of the Design Department, Faculty of Art and Design, Gazi University), the emblem was selected on 13 May 2017 among 8 designs short-listed from 61 proposals. The jury composed of Pr. Özbay Güven (Faculty of Sport Sciences, Gazi University), Dr. Mithat Yilmaz (Faculty of Art and Design, Gazi University), and Muharrem Koç, member of the federation's Board.
The emblem was inaugurated on 28 October 2017 during a federation's meeting held in Ağrı.
The former emblem of TDF was introduced in 1966, when the federation was formally incorporated, after having been founded in 1936. The old emblem was no longer compliant with the modern emblem's standards and printing methods.
