From the Administrative Divisions of Countries ("Statoids") website:

Guadalcanal: the island was named by its discoverer, Álvaro de Mendaña de Neira, after his home town in Spain.

Ochre-brown version

I found an olive green version of the Guadalcanal Province flag. I think that changed around 2004 from ocher-brown color to olive-green color. Unfortunately I have no more information.

Based on http://www.mpgis.gov.sb/index.php/resources/category/1-pgsp-newsletters the flag is brown and the emblem on the flag is in black and white. That's confirmed by the flag used in the Games at http://www.sportingpulse.com/gallery.cgi?g=2452&e=3511&et=1&c=1-3511-0-0-0.

In a still from a video about the 2009 Premiers’ Conference we can see that the table flag displayed for the province is brown and has the current (B/W) emblem. But then in a photo from the 2010 Solomon Games the Guadalcanal team displays a green flag with the same emblem.

Then in 2023 from the Solomon Games and from the Pacific Games Baton Relay we have the brown flag with the current emblem:

And just when I thought that the issue about the current Guadalcanal provincial flag has been resolved to my great surprise I realized that the SI electoral commission during the announcement of the election results in April 2024 they were displaying the old green flag: https://www.facebook.com/watch.

Meanwhile the Guadalcanal Provincial Government FB page displays the brown flag with the B/W emblem:
