Introduction

The Emirate of Nejd and Hasa was the second iteration of the Third Saudi State from 1913 to 1921. It was a monarchy led by the House of Saud. The state was formed after Saudi forces seized Al-Ahsa from the control of the Ottoman garrison, during the Conquest of al-Hasa.

I am curious if anyone else was aware of the flag of the Emirate of Nejd and Hasa. I can only find very minimal information about its flag and the emirate.

Similar to the situation with Asir, I cannot prove if it exists or not; I cannot find any surviving images. If it does exist, then what does it really look like?

The flag above is Wikipedia's reconstruction of it, yet there is a lack of proper sources that prove it exists. http://www.rbvex.it states that reports a green flag with a white hoist (probably on the right in reality due to how Arabic text is read) with white scriptions but also without inscriptions on it was used from 1902 until 1921, Wikipedia states that the emirate and flag of " Nejd and Hasa" lasted from 1913 until 1921.

On this flag the two-line slogan is the basic Muslim "Profession of Faith": “La ilaha illa Allah anna Muhammadan Rasulu-Allah" or in English as: "There is no god but Allah ... and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah". Unlike the drawing, this photo shows the start of the slogan at the top alongside the vertical white stripe (this is because Arabic is read right-to-left), and at the bottom the word "Muhammad" starts the last half of the slogan alongside the white stripe - therefore, I believe this is the correct "front side" of this flag. The Shahada slogan would be shown starting with "La ilaha" ["lam'aliff" letter: ﻻ ] along the hoist white stripe.

A drawing of this 1900ish flag is already shown in FOTW-Nejd (Najd) about half the way down the page at https://www.worldstatesmen.org/Saudi_Arabia.htm#Nejd
