The shield is Or, between two pallets plain outwards and indented inwards Azure, a sword flamant upright Gules, holding scales Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "VILA BOA DE OUSILHÃO".
Meaning:
Sword and scales are the usual attributes of St. Michael, the local patron saint.
