It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of green and white.

Shield Azure with base wavy of Argent and Vert, an arch Or masoned Sable with port Argent charged with an inescutcheon Azure charged with 13 plates ordered 2:3:2:3:2:1, half a sun Or rising from the arch, In dexter chief a cross patty Gules charged with a Greek cross Argent, in sinister chief a sinister bendy corn cob Or leaved Vert. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "VILA DE ARCOZELO".
Meaning:
The sun is symbolizing life. The arch is a canting element, Arcozelo is an old form of "Arco Pequeno" (= little arch). The cob is representing agriculture and the importance of the local production of flour. The base wavy is representing the Ocean (green waves) and the region of the so called Silver Coast (Port.: Costa de Prata). The cross is alluding to the Knights' Order of the Templars.

Arcozelo Commune is one of the 15 communes of the Vila Nova de Gaia municipality (q.v.); it had 14 352 nhabitants in 2011 and covers 8.5 km².
