Meaning:
The coat of arms combines elements of the pre-2013 communes as follows: the orb for São Salvador do Campo, the bridge for São Salvador do Campo and the grape bunches for São Mamede de Negrelos.

Presentation of Vila Nova do Campo

Vila Nova do Campo Commune is one of the 14 communes of Santo Tirso Municipality; its former communes together had 6809 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 9.8 km². The commune is the successor of Campo (São Martinho), São Salvador do Campo e Negrelos (São Mamede) United Commune. It was renamed on 26 June 2015, after a popular vote had taken place on 7 December 2014.

Meaning:
The toponym combines St. Martin ("São Martinho"), whose sword is shown in the arms, with field(s) ("campo"), which is not shown in the arms, unless that's the significance of the green shield.
