Shield Vert, a disc Gules fimbriated Or charged with a Paschal Lamb, in chief a cogwheel Or at dexter and a wheat sheaf Or tied Gules at sinister, in base a bridge Argent with one arch masoned Sable and issuant from a base wavy of Argent, Azure and Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "SÃO JOÃO DAS LAMPAS".
Meaning:
The Paschal Lamb is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, the local patron saint. Cogwheel and sheaf are symbolizing industry and agriculture. The bridge is representing a local bridge being part of the cultural heritage and is also symbolizing the importance of the bridge for goods and passenger traffic. The green basic colour is symbolizing the rural character and the natural preserve of Sintra-Cascais. The green wave is representing the Atlantic.

Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "TERRUGEM - SINTRA".
Meaning:
Head and torteaux - a disc Gules - are representing the bloody plate carrying the head of St. John the Baptist, who is the local patron saint as St. John the Beheaded. Sheaf and grapevine are symbolizing agriculture and viticulture.
