Shield Or a fess Gules, in chief a mitre Purpure gemmed Or with scarves Gules, superimposing a cross-on- pole and a crozier crossed per saltire, both Gules, in base a potatoe shrub leaved Vert and eradicated Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "ALMARGEM DO BISPO".
Meaning:
The commune's name means "the bishop's meadows", the elements in chief are alluding to a bishop. Thus the arms are partially canting.
