Shield Or, issuant from base a mountain Vert, superimposed by a fess wavy, divided into five alternating barrulets of Argent and Azure, in chief two chestnut trees eradicated Vert fruited Gules ordered per fess. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "SOITO - SABUGAL"
Meaning:
The green mountain is representing the Serra da Granja, the highest elevation in the commune. The barrulets wavy are symbolizing the abundance of water in the area, especially provided by the Ribeiras of Granja, São João and Bispo. The trees (in source erroneously denoted as oaks) are canting, for the name of the commune means "grove".
