Shield Or, issuant from base a mound Vert charged with two menhirs Argent in fess, above an olive branch Vert fruited Sable and a chestnut branch Vert fruited Gules in saltire, in chief three stones Azure garnished Argent in fess. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "SANTO ESTÊVÃO - SABUGAL".
Meaning:
The stones are an attribute of St. Stephen, local patron saint and name giver of the commune.

Santo Estêvão was one of the 17 communes of Sabugal Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 310 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 23,6 km².
