Shield Argent semy of heraldic fountains superimposed by a cross fleury fitchy Gules, base wavy Or fimbriated Vert. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "VILA NOVA DE MILFONTES"
Meaning:
The cross is alluding to the Knights' Order of Santiago (St. James the Elder). The heraldic fountains are canting. The translation of the commune's name is "new town of the 1000 fountains".

Vila Nova de Milfontes Commune is one of the 13 communes of the Odemira municipality (q.v.); it had 5001 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 75.9 km².
