Shield Or two wolves Sable respectant langued Gules, in chief a spear Sable bladed Gules in fess, issuant from base wavy Argent charged with a barrulet wavy Azure a mound of five coupeaux Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "OUTEIRO - MONTALEGRE".
Mening:
The word "outeiro" means something like "hillock" or "mound"; the arms are therefore partly canting.

Outeiro is one of the 17 communes of Montalegre Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes ; it had 153 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 51,58 km².
