Shield Azure, a pillory Argent between a lyre Or stringed Argent at dexter and an olive branch Or fruited Sable at sinister, in dexter chief a 5-point star Or. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "ABRUNHOSA-A-VELHA".
Meaning:
The local pillory, displayed on the arms is symbolizing the old administrative autonomy of the commune. The star is representing Serra da Estrela, a local mountain ridge. The olive branches are representing agriculture and the importance of olive oil for the local development.

Abrunhosa-a-Velha Commune is one of the 12 communes of Mangualde Municipality; it had 563 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 17.4 km².
