Shield Argent with base wavy of Argent and Azure, issuant from base a double mount Vert, superimposed by a traditional Port wine barrel cargo Douro river ship Or rigged Gules, sailing on base. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and long white scroll, as used by united communes, reading in black upper case serifed letters "PENHA LONGA E PAÇOS DE GAIOLO".
Meaning:
The boat and the base wavy are alluding to the Douro River, used for the transport of wine by boat. The dexter peak is representing former Penha Longa Commune, the sinister one former Paços de Gaiolo Commune.

Penha Longa e Paços de Gaiolo is one of the ten communes of Marco de Canavezes Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 2523 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 18,14 km².

Shield Argent with base wavy of Argent and Azure, issuant from base a triplemount Sable, charged with a spiral Argent and crowned by an embattled tower Gules masoned Argent with port and windows Argent, Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "PENHA LONGA".
Meaning:
The three peaks are a representation of the local landscape of granite mountains, three of them surrounding the village in the West, South and East. The spiral is a representation of pre-historic images, carved into stone at the Eiró Mountain. The tower is a representation of the Castelo Mountain with remains of a former fortification.

Penha Longa, also Penhalonga, was one of the 25 communes of Marco de Canavezes Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 1929 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 10,8 km².

Shield Or, three corn cobs Argent leafed Vert and ordered per fess, on chief a Papal crown (tiara) Gules, on base wavy Argent a barrulet wavy Azure, issuant from base a mount Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "PAÇOS DE GAIOLO".
Meaning:
The tiara is an attribute of St. Clement of Rome, local patron saint and a pope, living in the 1st century AD.
