The arms a Argent, a Greek cross Gules with three acorns vert fruited Or at each arm, in centre superimposed by an inescutcheon Argent charged with three throughout fesses Gules and three throughout pales Gules. Mural crown with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "SANTO ANTÓNIO DOS CAVALEIROS".
Meaning:
The cross with the acorns is the cross of St. Anthony, the patron of the town, and the inescutcheon is the arms of the previous noble landlords.
