Shield Or, an eradicated cork oak Vert peeled Gules, in chief a 10-point star Azure, flanked by two triplets of rye ears Vert, both tied Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "COMENDA".

Comenda Commune is one of the four communes of Gavião Municipality; it had 890 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 90.0 km². First belonging to Belver municipality, it finally became part of Gavião in 1898. When Gavião municipality was dissolved from 1895 to 1898, it had been part of Crato municipality.
