Póvoa de Atalaia was one of the 13 communes of Fundão Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 642 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 12,67 km².

Meaning:
The Paschal Lamb is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, the local patron saint. The ears are symbolising agriculture.
