Shield Or a fess Sable charged with an embroidered border Argent, on middle chief point a Maltese cross Argent fimbriated Gules, flanked by two grape bunches Purpure leafed Vert, on base a flax blossom proper (i.e. Azure). Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE VILA VERDE E SANTÃO".
Meaning:
Flower and border are referring to the local production of embroideries, best made of linen. The grape bunches are representing viticulture as important business line. The cross is representing former Vila Verde commune, which had been owned by the Order of Malta.

Vila Verde e Santão is one of the eight communes of Felgueiras Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 1417 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 3,14 km².

Shield Vert a fess Argent charged with an embroidered border Gules, on chief a lion passant Or, armed and tongued Gules and holding a palm frond Argent in pale by his dexter forepaw, on base a flax plant Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VILA VERDE - FELGUEIRAS".
Meaning:
The lion with palm frond is an attribute of St. Mammes of Caesarea also called St. Mammes of Capadocia, the local patron saint. Flower and border are referring to the local production of embroideries, best made of linen.

Vila Verde was one of the 20 communes of Felgueiras Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 809 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 1,25 km².

Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and short white scroll, in Bénard Guedes style, reading in black upper case serifed letters "SANTÃO".
Meaning:
The belfry is that one of the local parish church, see this photo. The cross is alluding to the fact that the commune had been a possession of the Order of Malta in the past. The grape bunches are representing viticulture as important business line.
