Shield Argent, five bars wavy Vert (barry wavy of nine of Argent and Vert), superimposed by a pile reversed Or charged with a rooster passant Sable armed and barbed Gules and an open book Argent in base superimposed by a sinister bendy knife Gules hilted Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "MAR - ESPOSENDE".
Meaning:
The green waves are canting and representing the sea (Port.: mar), the bloody knife is an attribute of St. Bartholomew, the local patron saint.
