It is a quite typical Portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain green background.

The arms are argent between two olive branched fruited sable and leaved vert and tied gules a bunch of grapes fruited purple and leaved vert under a leopard azure charged on its forehead by a five-pointed estoile or. Mural crown argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "VILA DA CINFÃES".
