The arms are Or two sheep Sable passant affronty and an corn cob Vert fruited Or and two ears of rye Vert all tied Gules. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "ERMIDA - CASTRO DAIRE".

Ermida Commune is one of the pre-2013 communes of Castro Daire Municipality (q.v.); it had 297 inhabitants in 2001 and covered 8,93 km²; the communal territory is split into three discontinuous areas, which is unusual in Portugal.
