Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure and Argent; two grapevines Purpure leafed Vert and ordered per fess; in chief a cross patty Gules, charged with a Greek cross Argent; issuant from base a mount Vert. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE ALVITO (1st line) (SÃO PEDRO E SÃO MARTINHO) E COUTO (2nd line)".
Meaning:
The cross is referring to the Knights of the Order of Christ, that made a donation to Couto in the past. The grapes are symbolising the production of "green" vine, a Portuguese speciality, being typical for the region. Mountain and base wavy are symbolising the landscape, especially the Louzado Mountain and the rivers Rio do Porto and Rio de Bramil.

Alvito (São Pedro e São Martinho) e Couto is one of the 18 communes of Barcelos Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 1446 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 8,54 km².

Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank)and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "ALVITO - S. PEDRO".
Meaning:
The pair of keys is an attribute of St. Peter, local patron saint and name giver of the commune.

Shield Azure a barrulet wavy Azure fimbriated Argent, on chief two geese statant respectant Or armed Gules, on base a corn cob Or leafed and eradicated Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "ALVITO - S. MARTINHO".
Meaning:
The geese are attributes of St. Martin,local patron saint and name giver of the commune.

Meaning:
The scallop is an attribute of St. James the Elder, the local patron saint. The cross is alluding to the Order of the Knights of Christ. The grapevines are representing viticulture.
