Shield parted per chevron revesed of Argent and Vert, in chief an eagle Gules armed Sable, in central base five waves Azure, on flanks two chestnut trees Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE SOUTO DE AGUIAR DA BEIRA E VALVERDE".
Meaning:
The red eagle had been a common charge of both former entities. The "valley" is representing former Valverde Commune, the chestnut trees former Souto de Aguiar da Beira Commune.

Souto de Aguiar da Beira e Valverde is one of the three communes of Aguiar da Beira Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 363 inhabitants in 2021 and
covered 21,68 km².

The trees are canting, because souto means chestnut grove.

Souto de Aguiar da Beira was one of the six communes of Aguiar da Beira Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 297 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 16,60 km².

Meaning:
The partion per chevron reversed or, if you prefer, chausse of Argent and Vert in Portuguese heraldry usually means a valley. The name of the commune means "green valley". Thus the "V" together with the green colour is a canting element.
