It is an usual Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of white and blue.

Shield Argent on heart point a Marian crown Azure flanked in each corner by a dolmen Sable. Mural crown Argent with visible four towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals: "CARAPITO". Usually entities of village rank have monocoloured flags.
Meaning:
The crown is an attribute of Our Lady of Purification, the local patron saint.

Carapito was one of the seven communes of Aguiar da Beira Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes ; it had 423 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 17,26 km².
