The arms are Azure, a bend sinister wavy Argent and Azure between a pair of Keys Or over Argent per saltire in chief dexter and a 5-point star Or over a crescent Argent in sinister base. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "TERENA - S. PEDRO".
Meaning:
The keys as attributes of St. Peter stand for the additional name of the commune and for the patron of the Catholic parish it was created from and is probably still counterminous with.
