The flag of Papile' is vertically divided green-white-green with the municipal coat of arms in the middle of the white stripe. The municipal coat of arms shows a green mountain, with three yellow farms (barns?) placed 2 + 1,  surmonted by a greyish sky with a blue eight-pointed star.
Ivan Sache, 5 March 2005

Papile - On green field white pale (green-white-green 1-2-1 approximately) with the arms of Papile: on field divided with castle-mound line below three farmhouses, above 8-pointed star. Flag proportions 10:13, free edges bordered with silver rope, finial is silver lance head with silver bands. The castle-mound and houses are canting: "papile" means "settlement at castle". The 8-pointed star symbolizes creativity, revival and knowledge.

Papile Eldership (Papiles seniunija) is one of six elderships in Akmene District. Administrative center is Borough of Papile. The flag is green, it has a wide white vertical stripe (1/2 the length of the flag), on which the coat of arms is superimposed: a curved line imitating the settlement divides the shield into two fields. In the silver head there is an azure eight-pointed star, at the end of the green field there are three golden buildings. Free edges are outlined with a silver cord. The ratio of height and length is 10:13. Approved by Decree of the President of Lithuania No. 431 of May 7, 1999. Author of symbols: Saulius Bayorinas. Buildings at the foot of the hill fort say the name of the place - "papile" means "castle settlement". The star symbolizes creativity, rebirth and knowledge, with which, among other things, the famous historian Simonas Daukantas is associated, who spent his last years in Papila, and is buried on its hillfort. Papile eldership has 4 sub-elsderships: Daubiškiai, Eglesiai, Kairiškiai, and Papile. No symbols known.
