While driving around Seoul, we ended up passing by the National Research
Foundation's headquarters in Seocho District (Seocho-gu). There I noticed the
NRF flag flying alongside the South Korean national flag. According to the NRF
website, the Foundation is "entrusted with an important historic mission to
enhance the capacity of academic research and science and technology as the
determinants of national competitiveness and the quality of life, and to foster
the valuable future assets of human resources."

The flag of South Korea's National Research Foundation features the
foundation's logo centered upon a white field, with the name of the agency in
white Hangul characters along a blue stripe at the bottom of the field.
