Former Flag (2005)

It appears from the website that on March 9, 2005 a new flag was adopted (as well as other new symbols.) Quote below from the Changwon website:

The beeline which crosses by length and breadth expresses Changwon city's future image that develops in all directions based on the first planned city, Changwon's road network

The view of hand-in-hands means that citizens will make open for future by harmonizing with civilian, local government, labor and enterprise

The red color of the 4 square color points represents Changwon's vital energy, green represents environmentally-friendly city, yellow represents Changwon citizens and blue represents an up-to-date industrial complex.

Phil Nelson, 11 October 2005

From the Changwon web site (April 2005):

The ground of the insignia was imitated from GyeongNam province from which it came, it is shaped from "chang" and means the tower of export and is shaped from "won" and means the universe.
