Symbol mark
The upper triangle represents the universe, space and creation, and the lower means the sea and background of Pusan. And the two waves mean spreading toward the world and future. The whole symbolized the valance and vitality.
Emblem
Pusan is shaped by mountain, the river, and the sea which in Chinese means "sampojihyang". The seagull and five-six Islands are the symbols of Pusan which express its balance and vitality.

I just sourced the Busan flag, and found both flags (one with city emblem
and the other simplified) were used on different sites. I am not sure which one
is new or official.
