The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Feb 6th 2004 by Notice No 8. The
white flag has an orange, green and blue three color city emblem in the center.
The city emblem is a stylized kanji 千 Chi of Chikuma. The city emblem symbolizes
a coexistence and a conformity in a form of a ring. It represents a wish to
realize its furure image of a coexistence and an interchanging city with a moon
and flowers contrasting favorably with Chikuma River. The flag proportion is
90:135.
