The Caribbean Court of Justice shall
perform to the highest standards as the supreme judicial organ in the Caribbean
Community. In its original jurisdiction it ensures uniform interpretation and
application of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas, thereby underpinning and
advancing the CARICOM Single Market and Economy. As the final court of appeal
for member states of the Caribbean Community it fosters the development of an
indigenous Caribbean jurisprudence. The Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) is
established on 14 February 2001 and was inaugurated on 16 April 2005 in Port of
Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.
Its flag is white with its logo in the center.
The logo is a dark-blue bordered light blue disk depicting a scale and letters
CCJ overlapping it. There is the name of court on upper part of blue border.
Proportions of the flag is not known, it should be 3:5 or 2:3 (based on the
image).
