Overview

Fadd is a large village in Tolna district of Tolna county, along the bank of a dead branch of Danube.
After the conquest, it belonged to the settlement area of the Megyer tribe and was in the hands of the sons of árpád.
The village is first mentioned in written sources in the 11th century. The Veszprémvölgy abbey received an estate here and it is listed under the name Patadi. A significant part of the village came into the possession of the Tihany abbey in 1055. During the Tatar invasion, the area was destroyed, but favorable conditions quickly attracted people back, and it became a market town in the 15th–16th centuries.

The coat of arms is a shield framed with a silver line, silver, with a wavy line, cut into a red and blue field. In the upper red field of the shield, two green tobacco leaves symmetrically on the vertical axis embrace a silver tobacco cutting knife. In the lower blue field, a silver fish swims in the left direction of the shield holder.
The shield is supported by a green stem decorated with stylized leaves bearing two red peppers on each side. The stems grow from the wavy part of a three-part, silver-framed, dovetail-ended ribbon floating below the shield, blue on the front and red on the back. The ribbon has the inscription "FADD" in silver capital letters.
The coat of arms was adopted by the same Local Government Decree.
