Felsőpakony is a large village in Gyál district of Pest county in Budapest metropolitan area.
The area of Felsőpakony was already inhabited from the 1st century AD, when the Sarmatians invaded and populated the region,
and then the area was populated by the Hungarians after the Conquest. The first written record of the settlement is in the
boundary description of the estate donated to the Csuti Premontrei monastery by King Béla IV in 1264, first as “Pukun” and then as “Pakon”.
The village was completely destroyed during the Turkish campaign. The name of the settlement reappears in 1704, when it is already mentioned as Felsőpakony.
It was organized as a co-village of Gyál in 1970, and the settlement regained its independence in 1990. It became municipality (large village) in 2013.

The previous flag had light blue field charged with the coat of arms. The inscription ‘NAGYKöZSéG’ (large village) was written under the coat of arms.
This version was adopted in 2013, when it became municipality. Date of color change to darker shade is uncertain.

The coat of arms is a blue shield with a horizontal red band outlined with a gold stripe in the middle,
in the ratio of 1/6-1/6 gold and 4/6 red. In the red field is a floating golden bee with outstretched wings.
In the lower blue field is a floating stylized sand hawk with gold. The shield is supported on two sides by a golden stag turned inwards, rearing,
which stand on a silver arabesque. On the triple-jointed, curved golden ribbon hanging from the arabesque is the inscription in black in capital letters: FELSőPAKONY.
There is a decorative point before and after the name of the settlement.
