The University of Slavonski Brod, the newest university in Croatia, started its activities in October 2020. It was created by merging the College of Slavonski Brod, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Slavonski Brod of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek, delocated studies in Slavonski Brod of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, and Student Center in Slavonski Brod, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek.

Flag of the University of Slavonski Brod

The flag of the University of Slavonski Brod is blue with the university's emblem.
The central figure of the emblem is Ivana Brlić Mažuranić (1874-1938), internationally known as the best Croatian children's writer. Although she was born in Ogulin, she spent her most mature creative days in Slavonski Brod.
As is the custom with Croatian university emblems, the text can be either in Croatian (Sveučilište u Slavonskom Brodu) or Latin (Universitas Studiorum Marsoniensis).
