Coat of arms of Cernik

The coat of arms is "Azure two acorns and in chief two keys in saltire with the wards down outwards all or".
The keys refer to St. Peter, the patron saint of the parish. The arms are canting since the name of the place is derived from the archaic word cer meaning "an oak".

Željko Heimer discovered that there are two ceremonial flags, which differ in detail, a blue gonfalon with three tails with a triangular end and golden fringes along the lower edge, with the coat of arms in the middle, the name of the municipality in the two arches above and golden oak ornaments in the tails.

Flag, coat of arms and ceremonial flag of Cernik, 2002

The first symbols of Cernik were adopted on 17 October 2002 by the Municipality Assembly.
The only difference with the current symbols is the coat of arms, "Azure an acorn and in chief two keys in saltire with the wards down outwards all or", that is with a single acorn instead of two.
