The Division of Applied Mathematics was established in 1993, and in 1999 the current Department was the first integrated University Department in Croatia.
The Department uses several emblems that seem to be part of the same set, the main one consisting of the blue drawing of a hanging bridge with a stylized sun spiral over it.
