It was in use from 1964.01.01-1966.02.28. The white stripe was a feature
of the flag of the ruling Convention Peoples’
Party. After Kwame Nkrumah was kicked out the older
flag was restored.

This flag is described in [smi75b].

What the ensigns in 1960-1964 (Naval,
Air Force, civil at sea,
and civil air), when the middle stripe of the
national flag was white? I’m sure these ensigns (if they existed
previously) were re-legislated — but were they really used?
António Martins, 07 July 1999
I suspect that at least some of the flag might not have been in use
in these only two years.
Željko Heimer, 09 October 2001
The Air Force flag was created much letter
than the 60’s, probably only in 1980’s. Indeed we cannot confirm
the existence of the two light-blue ensigns [incl.
civ.] in 1964 variants
