In the message about the Carrickfergus Sailing Club
the foundation, in
1866, of the Carrickfergus Rowing Club was mentioned. In fact the merger in 1922
brought the ‘Carrickfergus Rowing Club incorporating Carrickfergus Sailing Club’
into being; at a later date (the history section of CSC takes us up to 1984)
there may have occurred an administrative split. In any case CARC flags are
shown on the CSC website but first see the little emblem at top right:
http://archive.carrickfergussc.org/1999/Racing/RyaYouthChampionships/Results.htm.
This photo shows a white flag bearing a red cross throughout (St George) and red
initials “CARC” placed in the resulting fields (this item seems to be
double-sided):
http://gallery.carrickfergussc.org/p43923231.html whereas here (two
pictures) we see basically the same flag with vertical edges, also red, added to
the hoist and the fly, and the red-and-white CSC burgee, fimbriated white,
placed in the centre:
http://gallery.carrickfergussc.org/p18724750.html and
http://gallery.carrickfergussc.org/p43923177.htm. Judging by the emblem of
first link, this must be the CARC flag proper.

This photo
detail evokes the continued(?) or historic(?) merger of CARC and
CSC.
