The flag of Berrocal de Huebra is prescribed by a Decree adopted on 12
December 1997 by the Salamanca Provincial Government, signed on 19 December 1997 by the
President of the Government, and published on 12
January 1998 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 6 (text).
The flag is described
as follows:
Flag: Diagonally divided argent and gules. In the middle of the flag is placed the municipal coat of arms.
The coat of arms of Berrocal de Huebra is prescribed by a Decree
adopted on 11 April 1997 by the Salamanca Provincial Government,
signed the same day by the President of the Government, and published
on 2 May 1997 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 82 (text).
The coat of arms is described
as follows:
Coat of arms: Per fess, 1. Checky of fifteen pieces seven or and eight gules, 2. Argent waves azure ensigned with a rocky landscape [berrocal] vert. The shield surmounted with the Royal Spanish Crown.
The Royal Academy of History, when submitted the flag proposal, accepted the proposed flag but repeated its previous concern about the proposed coat of arms. The use of the checky arms of the Godínez family in the first quarter of the shield is "excessive"; these arms should be used as a bordure, which would also improve the aesthetic of the arms. The rocky landscape (berrocal) should be represented argent instead of the "unrealistic" vert; the base of the rocks should touch the upper wave. (Boletín de la Real Academia de la Historia, 2000, 197, 2: 358).
